Ashok has been a wonderful host. The place has a rustic feel to it which coupled withe the lush greenery and secluded environment makes your stay mesmerising. The caretaker is available at all times and is very helpful. Also Ashok, the Owner, sets in to resolve any queries you have. Places to see around are at a very less distance. Beach is a 5 min drive away so is a Shiva Temple. All in all the property in itself is self contained and worth a visit. We as a group of 5 had fun.

We loved the eco-friendly villa which is very tastefully done. This property is an awesome and quite place to stay. At a walking distance from the beach and the temple, this is a very relaxing place. The communication before arrival was extremely detailed and all of our questions were answered by our hosts Mr. Ashok and Vikram. They were very happy to help and responded very quickly. Mr.Ashok suggested a lot of good places to visit in and around Gokarna. The staff at canteen attached to the property were very friendly and cooked us lovely food. We would highly recommend staying here as it gave a really unique experience and the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Thanks again Mr.Ashok!!

Ashok’s villa is an idyllic home, in the scenic Gokarna, not too far from the city centre (main road). The place is exactly as captured in the picture. Top marks on cleanliness and comfort. A very thoughtful and attentive host, Ashok was extremely accessible and proactively gave us tips on getting in and around. A big shout out to Ravi, who takes great care of the property and its guests. Highly recommended!

Ashok’s place is a huge 1 bedroom villa with sprawling garden/outdoors close to the beach. This is supposed to be Ashok’s retirement home that he has built with quite a personal touch through a well known Architect. Fortunately for us travellers, he does organic farming near Bangalore so this place is open for us even though he has retired. It has a mix of modern and traditional architecture. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are huge and airy. All amenities for a short or long stay and to cook are provided. Ashok communicated with us well in advance and gave us great recommendations on what to do and how to reach the place with the best experience via road. There are trees and plants in the garden and you can see peacocks in the morning as well. We came to Gokarna in a car so we didn’t have a problem to travel to all the beaches in Gokarna. Ashok also recommended us to get to his place via a ferry from Ankola, which was a great and new experience for us. If you want to use public transport, the main road is only ~ 500mts away. A housekeeper is always on/near the premises to help and even cook as per your requirement with a nominal charge. Overall, a wonderful experience staying in the house and interacting with a very helpful host.

This was an unexpected find when I was looking for a stay in Gokarna. Place is about 3km from town of Gokarna in between a large farm we have a laterite stone (locally available) home. This can house about 6guest in total and top floor room is a must sleep one with wind coming in all directions. We liked it very much but unfortunately had only one day stay. So if someone wants to lazily spend time doing nothing and sleeping on a hammock, this is the place. It is a different thing that people come to Gokarna to roam around its beaches and temple, it is sometimes good to stay away from all hustle in a peaceful and serene environment under nature hearing bird chirping. Thanks to owners for letting out the property for us to enjoy this peace and serenity.

Great place! Serene and calm.The best part (apart from the hosts and the help, Ravi) was the different sounds you hear acoss the day – from birds tweeting early morning to the waves crashing at night. Nature at it’s best and simplest.

Casuarina is a place to be at Gokarna and we had an amazing stay with my wife and 2yo. Ashok Ji has been a fabulous host giving important infos, making stay effortless and reaching out to help in ways that are touching. Caretakers, Rajesh and Ravi, are helpful and prompt. Property is at great location nearby to Gokarna beach and 15mins odd from OM beach. Thanks again Ashok Ji for hosting us.

There is a hall and a bedroom in the ground floor and a small, but comfortable bedroom in the attic. The entrance to the bedroom in the attic is constricted for elderly guests. There is one bathroom which was clean and sufficiently large. The property is about 4 Kms from Gokarna centre. The caretaker Mr.Ravi was very helpful and accomodating. The host Mr.Gaonkar was very prompt and helpful throughout the stay. He helped us hire bikes for rent to travel to and from the city. Summarising, a very good stay if you don’t mind travelling the distance to reach Gokarna.

Check in process is very easy. Place is tidy and spacious. All amenities are present. The canteen attached to the villa has modest food. Ashok himself is professional, yet friendly.

Ashok’s is fantastic! Both Ashok & Ravi are incredibly helpful and gave us lots of advice on anything we needed. Location was perfect for us as it was nice and secluded and the local beach is really special. The restaurant on site makes beautiful food and delivered to your door – it’s perfect!

We chose Ashok’s place for our family trip to Gokarna. Being just the 4 of us (2 young kids), the idea of staying off-city limits near a beach seemed a bit adventurous and even disconcerting. But thanks to Ashok for putting us at ease. He offered us great local tips that helped us make the most of our stay- complete with a barge ride at the confluence of Arabian Sea and River Gangavali. The place is serene and is quite close to key beaches at Gokarna. The local canteen can make the food of your choice at very reasonable price. Stay here to experience closeness with nature and get a slice of life of a coastal village.

Ashok is a great host who kept checking with us and provided lots of local tips and routes. The house is well maintained, clean and has a nice garden area around it. The caretaker Mr.Ravi was available any time and was very helpful. The house feels a bit secluded and more suitable if you are in a group.

It’s located in a quiet location, a little away from main city, this not only makes it a great peaceful location, but also a safe place close to the beach. Mr. Ashok’s villa is a nice and comfy place in the middle of a pretty huge estate with the crashing waves from the nearby beaches humming in the background. We had a nice, relaxing time at his villa and thanks to his tips and local guidance, we got to explore some really good places in and around Gokarna. I’d say Mr. Ashok and his place deserve nothing less than a 10/10!

Ashoks house was beautiful. We fell in love with it, the moment we set our eyes on it. Located in a quaint neighborhood, admist, this house is the perfect gateaway. The house is designed to be like a cabin in the woods. What impressed us most is the level of details Ashok prepped us with before checking in. He mentioned the exact route , things to do in the neighborhood etc. The caretaker Ravi is extremely sweet and helpful. He was available hands on. The over all experience was amazing and we wish we could have stayed longer .

I am a big fan of airbnb. I found this isolated and almost spooky ( in a very nice way) place at Gokarna…villa Casuarina. Located in a large property surrounded by Casuarina trees, you hear the sea ( which is just a short distance away) through the night and you wake up to it in the morning. Exposed bricks,red oxide flooring makes you feel you have just walked into your grandparents house. My favourite bit was the attic room, ideal for doing yoga if you are so inclined. Mr Ashok was always ready with some useful tip and advice to help us along the trip. And even after we checked out,he was still in touch with advice for our onward journey. One can see why he is a superhost. Thank you sir

All the aspects of your stay are well taken care of by Mr. Ashok like a small indoor functional Kitchen, plans itinerary for you, food available at the canteen outside, books kept around for different tastes of readers. The canteen guy prepares special tea on the request and cooks tasty homemade food. All the beaches fall under a radius of 5-6 km. You also get an option for bike hire to travel around Gokarna.
